Surah The Cow [Al-Baqara] Ayah 286 Location Madanah Number 2
لَّا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ إِن طَلَّقۡتُمُ ٱلنِّسَآءَ مَا لَمۡ تَمَسُّوهُنَّ أَوۡ تَفۡرِضُواْ لَهُنَّ فَرِيضَةٗۚ وَمَتِّعُوهُنَّ عَلَى ٱلۡمُوسِعِ قَدَرُهُۥ وَعَلَى ٱلۡمُقۡتِرِ قَدَرُهُۥ مَتَٰعَۢا بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِۖ حَقًّا عَلَى ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ [٢٣٦]
Nuk është gjynah për ju nëse i lëshoni gratë para se të keni marrëdhënie me to ose para se t'ua caktoni mehrin[21]. Mirëpo, jepuni atyre diçka nga pasuria: i pasuri sipas mundësisë së tij dhe i varfri sipas mundësisë së vet; një dhuratë të arsyeshme. Kjo është detyrë për bamirësit.
