Surah Ornaments of Gold [Az-Zukhruf] Ayah 89 Location Maccah Number 43
وَكَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ فِي قَرۡيَةٖ مِّن نَّذِيرٍ إِلَّا قَالَ مُتۡرَفُوهَآ إِنَّا وَجَدۡنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا عَلَىٰٓ أُمَّةٖ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِم مُّقۡتَدُونَ [٢٣]
Und auf diese Weise haben Wir (auch) vor dir in eine Ortschaft keinen Warner gesandt, außer dass diejenigen, die in ihr üppig lebten, gesagt hätten: „Wir haben ja (bereits) unsere Väter in einer bestimmten Glaubensrichtung vorgefunden, und auf ihren Spuren folgen wir ihnen (blind).“
