Surah Repentance [At-Taubah] Ayah 129 Location Madanah Number 9
وَمَا كَانَ ٱسۡتِغۡفَارُ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ لِأَبِيهِ إِلَّا عَن مَّوۡعِدَةٖ وَعَدَهَآ إِيَّاهُ فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُۥٓ أَنَّهُۥ عَدُوّٞ لِّلَّهِ تَبَرَّأَ مِنۡهُۚ إِنَّ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ لَأَوَّٰهٌ حَلِيمٞ [١١٤]
Und das um Vergebung bitten Ibrahims für seinen Vater war nur wegen eines Versprechens, das er ihm gegeben hatte. Als es ihm aber klar wurde, dass er ein Feind Allahs war, sagte er sich von ihm los. Wahrlich, Ibrahim war ja weichherzig und nachsichtig.
