Surah The Story [Al-Qasas] Ayah 88 Location Maccah Number 28
وَكَمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مِن قَرۡيَةِۭ بَطِرَتۡ مَعِيشَتَهَاۖ فَتِلۡكَ مَسَٰكِنُهُمۡ لَمۡ تُسۡكَن مِّنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗاۖ وَكُنَّا نَحۡنُ ٱلۡوَٰرِثِينَ [٥٨]
われら*はその暮らし向きに思い上がった、どれだけ多くの（不信仰な）町（の人々）を滅ぼしてきたことか。そして、それらが（廃墟と化した）彼らの住居である。（その内）僅かな者を除いては、彼らの（滅亡）後、居住されることはなかったのだ。われら*こそはもとより、相続者[1]なのである。
