وَقَالُواْ قُلُوبُنَا فِيٓ أَكِنَّةٖ مِّمَّا تَدۡعُونَآ إِلَيۡهِ وَفِيٓ ءَاذَانِنَا وَقۡرٞ وَمِنۢ بَيۡنِنَا وَبَيۡنِكَ حِجَابٞ فَٱعۡمَلۡ إِنَّنَا عَٰمِلُونَ [٥]
また、彼ら（不信仰者*たち）は（使徒*ムハンマド*に）言った。「私たちの心は、あなたが私たちを招くもの（への理解）から（阻む）覆いがかけられ、私たちの耳には重しがかけられており[1]、私たちとあなたとの間には（、あなたの招きに応じることを阻む）障壁がある。ならば、あなたは（自分の宗教に従って）行うがよい。本当に私たちは、（自分たちの宗教に従って）行うから」。
