Setting
Surah The Fig [At-Tin] in English
بِّسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلتِّينِ وَٱلزَّيْتُونِ ﴿١﴾
By the fig and the olive;
وَطُورِ سِينِينَ ﴿٢﴾
and by the Mount Sinai,
وَهَٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ ٱلْأَمِينِ ﴿٣﴾
and by this city (of Makkah), a haven of peace:
لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ فِىٓ أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍۢ ﴿٤﴾
surely We created man in the best mould;
ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَٰهُ أَسْفَلَ سَٰفِلِينَ ﴿٥﴾
then We reverted him to the lowest of the low,
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَلَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍۢ ﴿٦﴾
except those who have faith and do righteous deeds. Theirs is a never ending reward.
فَمَا يُكَذِّبُكَ بَعْدُ بِٱلدِّينِ ﴿٧﴾
Who, then, can give the lie to you, (O Prophet), about the Reward and the Punishment?
أَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَحْكَمِ ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ ﴿٨﴾
Is not Allah the Greatest of all sovereigns?
