Surah Competition [At-Takathur] in English
Surah Competition [At-Takathur] Ayah 8 Location Makkah Number 102
أَلۡهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ ﴿1﴾
Rivalry [and vainglory] distracted you
حَتَّىٰ زُرۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَقَابِرَ ﴿2﴾
until you visited [even] the graves.
كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ ﴿3﴾
No indeed, soon you will know!
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ ﴿4﴾
No indeed, soon you will know for yet another time!
كَلَّا لَوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عِلۡمَ ٱلۡیَقِینِ ﴿5﴾
Indeed, were you to know with certain knowledge,
لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلۡجَحِیمَ ﴿6﴾
you would have surely seen hell [in this very life].
ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَیۡنَ ٱلۡیَقِینِ ﴿7﴾
Afterward you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.
ثُمَّ لَتُسۡـَٔلُنَّ یَوۡمَىِٕذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِیمِ ﴿8﴾
Then, on that day, you will surely be questioned concerning the Blessing.
