Surah The Chargers [Al-Adiyat] in English

Surah The Chargers [Al-Adiyat] Ayah 11 Location Makkah Number 100

وَٱلْعَٰدِيَٰتِ ضَبْحًۭا ﴿1﴾

By the galloping, panting horses[1],

فَٱلْمُورِيَٰتِ قَدْحًۭا ﴿2﴾

striking sparks of fire [with their hooves][2],

فَٱلْمُغِيرَٰتِ صُبْحًۭا ﴿3﴾

launching raids at dawn[3],

فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِۦ نَقْعًۭا ﴿4﴾

stirring up thereby clouds of dust,

فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِۦ جَمْعًا ﴿5﴾

plunging thereby into the midst of the enemy[4],

إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لِرَبِّهِۦ لَكَنُودٌۭ ﴿6﴾

indeed, man is very ungrateful to his Lord[5] –

وَإِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٌۭ ﴿7﴾

and he himself is a witness to that[6] –

وَإِنَّهُۥ لِحُبِّ ٱلْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ ﴿8﴾

and he is truly extreme in his love of wealth.

۞ أَفَلَا يَعْلَمُ إِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِى ٱلْقُبُورِ ﴿9﴾

Does he not know that when the contents of graves will be overturned,

وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِى ٱلصُّدُورِ ﴿10﴾

and the secrets of the hearts will be brought to light[7]?

إِنَّ رَبَّهُم بِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لَّخَبِيرٌۢ ﴿11﴾

Indeed, their Lord is All-Aware of them on that Day[8].
