Surah The Calamity [Al-Qaria] Ayah 11 Location Makkah Number 101

ٱلْقَارِعَةُ ﴿1﴾

The Striking Calamity!

مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ ﴿2﴾

What is the Striking Calamity?

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ ﴿3﴾

How do you know what the Striking Calamity is?

يَوْمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلْفَرَاشِ ٱلْمَبْثُوثِ ﴿4﴾

On that Day people will be like scattered moths[1],

وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ ٱلْمَنفُوشِ ﴿5﴾

and the mountains will be like carded wool[2].

فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ ﴿6﴾

Then the one whose scales of good deeds are heavy,

فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍۢ رَّاضِيَةٍۢ ﴿7﴾

will have a pleasant life[3].

وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ ﴿8﴾

But the one whose scales of good deeds are light,

فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةٌۭ ﴿9﴾

his abode will be the abyss[4].

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهْ ﴿10﴾

And how do you know what it is?

نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌۢ ﴿11﴾

It is a Blazing Fire.
