Surah The earthquake [Al-Zalzala] Ayah 8 Location Madinah Number 99

إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا ﴿1﴾

When the earth is shaken with a mighty quake,

وَأَخْرَجَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا ﴿2﴾

and the earth throws out its burdens[1],

وَقَالَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَا لَهَا ﴿3﴾

and man says[2], “What is the matter with it?”

يَوْمَئِذٍۢ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا ﴿4﴾

On that Day it will recount all its news,

بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا ﴿5﴾

because your Lord has inspired it [to do so].

يَوْمَئِذٍۢ يَصْدُرُ ٱلنَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًۭا لِّيُرَوْا۟ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ ﴿6﴾

On that Day all people will come forward in separate groups to be shown their deeds[3].

فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًۭا يَرَهُۥ ﴿7﴾

So whoever does an atom’s weight[4] of good will see it,

وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍۢ شَرًّۭا يَرَهُۥ ﴿8﴾

and whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.
