Surah The tidings [An-Naba] in English
عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ ﴿١﴾
About what are they asking one another?
AAamma yatasaaloona
OF WHAT ARE they asking one another?
What are they questioning each other about?
Of what do they question one another?
Of what ask they?
What are they asking (one another)?
What are they asking one another about?
About what are they asking one another?
Whereof do they question one another?
What is it that they are questioning each other about?!
What do they question each other about!
What do they quarrel about?
Of what do they ask one another?
What are they asking each other about?
Concerning what are they disputing?
عَنِ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ﴿٢﴾
About the great news -
AAani alnnabai alAAatheemi
(Is it) of the great announcement
About the great tidings!
Of the mighty tiding
Of the mighty Announcement,
About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.),
About the Great Event.
Is it about the awesome tiding
(It is) of the awful tidings,
[Is it] about the Great Tiding,
About the Great News
They quarrel about the great news
About the great event,
About the awesome tidings [of resurrection]
Concerning the Great News,
ٱلَّذِى هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ ﴿٣﴾
That over which they are in disagreement.
Allathee hum feehi mukhtalifoona
About which they have been differing?
Regarding which they hold different views.
whereon they are at variance.
Concerning which they differ.
About which they are in disagreement.
About which they disagree.
that they are in utter disagreement?
Concerning which they are in disagreement.
the one about which they differ?
whereupon they are at variance?
concerning which they have disputes.
About which they differ?
concerning which they are in disagreement!
About which they cannot agree.
كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٤﴾
No! They are going to know.
Kalla sayaAAlamoona
Indeed they will come to know soon;
Surely yes, they will soon come to know!
No indeed; they shall soon know!
By no means! anon they shall know.
Nay, they will come to know!
Surely, they will find out.
No indeed; soon will they come to know;
Nay, but they will come to know!
No indeed! Soon they will know!
Indeed, they shall know!
(What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality).
Nay! they shall soon come to know
But they will soon come to know.
Verily, they shall soon (come to) know!
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٥﴾
Then, no! They are going to know.
Thumma kalla sayaAAlamoona
They will indeed come to know soon.
Again surely yes, they will soon come to know!
Again, no indeed; they shall soon know!
Again, by no means! anon they shall know.
Nay, again, they will come to know!
Most certainly, they will find out.
again, no indeed; soon will they come to know.
Nay, again, but they will come to know!
No indeed! Soon they will know for once again!
Again, indeed, they shall know!
Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it.
Nay! Nay! they shall soon know.
Surely, they will soon find out the truth!
Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know!
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِهَٰدًۭا ﴿٦﴾
Have We not made the earth a resting place?
Alam najAAali alarda mihadan
Did We not make the earth a spreading,
Did We not make the earth a bed?
Have We not made the earth as a cradle
Have We not made the earth an expanse.
Have We not made the earth as a bed,
Did We not make the earth a cradle?
Have We not spread the earth like a bed,
Have We not made the earth an expanse,
Did We not make the earth a resting place?
Have We not made the earth as a cradle
Have We not made the earth as a place to rest
Have We not made the earth an even expanse?
Have We not spread the earth like a bed,
Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse,
وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًۭا ﴿٧﴾
And the mountains as stakes?
Waaljibala awtadan
The mountains tent-pins?
And the mountains as pegs?
and the mountains as pegs?
And the mountains as stakes?
And the mountains as pegs?
And the mountains pegs?
and fixed the mountains like pegs,
And the high hills bulwarks?
and the mountains stakes?
and the mountains as pegs?
and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)?
And the mountains as projections (thereon)?
and raised the mountains like supporting poles?
And the mountains as pegs?
وَخَلَقْنَٰكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًۭا ﴿٨﴾
And We created you in pairs
Wakhalaqnakum azwajan
We created you in pairs,
And it is We who created you in pairs.
And We created you in pairs,
And We have created you in pairs.
And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.).
And created you in pairs?
and created you in pairs (as men and women),
And We have created you in pairs,
and create you in pairs?
And We created you in pairs,
Have We not created you in pairs,
And We created you in pairs,
We created you in pairs,
And (have We not) created you in pairs,
وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًۭا ﴿٩﴾
And made your sleep [a means for] rest
WajaAAalna nawmakum subatan
And made sleep for you to rest,
And made your sleep a rest.
and We appointed your sleep for a rest;
And We have made your sleep as a rest.
And have made your sleep as a thing for rest.
And made your sleep for rest?
and made your sleep a means of repose,
And have appointed your sleep for repose,
and make your sleep for rest?
and We made your sleep a rest,
made sleep for you to rest,
And We made your sleep to be rest (to you),
and gave you repose in sleep,
And made your sleep for rest,
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًۭا ﴿١٠﴾
And made the night as clothing
WajaAAalna allayla libasan
The night a covering,
And made the night a cover.
and We appointed night for a garment,
And We have made the night a covering.
And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness),
And made the night a cover?
and made the night a covering,
And have appointed the night as a cloak,
and make the night a covering?
and We made the night a mantle,
made the night as a covering,
And We made the night to be a covering,
and the night as a cover,
And made the night as a covering,
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلنَّهَارَ مَعَاشًۭا ﴿١١﴾
And made the day for livelihood
WajaAAalna alnnahara maAAashan
And the day for seeking livelihood.
And made the day for seeking livelihood.
and We appointed day for a livelihood.
And We have made the day for seeking livelihood.
And have made the day for livelihood.
And made the day for livelihood?
and made the day to seek livelihood,
And have appointed the day for livelihood.
and make the day for livelihood?
and We made the day for a livelihood.
and the day as time for you to make a living?
And We made the day for seeking livelihood.
and made the day for earning a livelihood.
And made the day as a means of subsistence?
وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًۭا شِدَادًۭا ﴿١٢﴾
And constructed above you seven strong [heavens]
Wabanayna fawqakum sabAAan shidadan
We raised over you several secure (skies),
And built seven strong roofs above you.
And We have built above you seven strong ones,
And We have builded over you seven strong heavens.
And We have built above you seven strong (heavens),
And built above you seven strong ones?
and built above you seven strong firmaments,
And We have built above you seven strong (heavens),
and build above you the seven mighty heavens?
And We built above you seven strong ones,
Have We not made seven strong heavens above you,
And We made above you seven strong ones,
We have built above you seven mighty heavens,
And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments,
وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًۭا وَهَّاجًۭا ﴿١٣﴾
And made [therein] a burning lamp
WajaAAalna sirajan wahhajan
And placed a lamp therein brightly burning.
And have kept a very bright lamp in it.
and We appointed a blazing lamp
And We have set therein lamps glowing.
And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun).
And placed a blazing lamp?
and placed therein a hot, shining lamp,
And have appointed a dazzling lamp,
and make [the sun for] a radiant lamp?
and placed in them a blazing lamp
(the sun) as a shining torch
And We made a shining lamp,
and We have set therein a glowing lamp.
And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour?
وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمُعْصِرَٰتِ مَآءًۭ ثَجَّاجًۭا ﴿١٤﴾
And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water
Waanzalna mina almuAAsirati maan thajjajan
And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents
And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds.
and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading
And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous.
And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water.
And brought down from the clouds pouring water?
and sent down abundant water from the clouds
And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water,
and send down water pouring from the rain-clouds,
and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain
and sent down heavy rains from the clouds
And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly,
>From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance,
And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance,
لِّنُخْرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبًّۭا وَنَبَاتًۭا ﴿١٥﴾
That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation
Linukhrija bihi habban wanabatan
That We may produce from it grain and vegetation,
In order to produce grain and plants with it.
that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants,
So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation.
That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations,
To produce with it grains and vegetation?
so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation,
Thereby to produce grain and plant,
that We may bring forth with it grains and plants,
that We may bring forth with it grain, plants
to make the seeds, plants,
That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs,
so that We may bring forth thereby grain and a variety of plants,
That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables,
وَجَنَّٰتٍ أَلْفَافًا ﴿١٦﴾
And gardens of entwined growth.
Wajannatin alfafan
And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs.
And dense gardens.
and gardens luxuriant.
And gardens thick with trees.
And gardens of thick growth.
And luxuriant gardens?
and gardens dense with foliage?
And gardens of thick foliage.
and luxuriant gardens?
and luxuriant gardens.
and thick gardens grow?
And gardens dense and luxuriant.
and gardens dense with foliage.
And gardens of luxurious growth?
إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَٰتًۭا ﴿١٧﴾
Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time -
Inna yawma alfasli kana meeqatan
Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement.
Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed.
Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time,
Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed.
Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time,
The Day of Sorting has been appointed.
Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time;
Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time,
Indeed the Day of Judgement is the tryst,
Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time,
The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment.
Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed:
Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time.
Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed,
يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًۭا ﴿١٨﴾
The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes
Yawma yunfakhu fee alssoori fatatoona afwajan
The day the trumpet blast is sounded you will come in hordes;
The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes.
the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops,
It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes.
The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups);
The Day when the Trumpet is blown, and you will come in droves.
the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes;
A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes,
the day the Trumpet will be blown, and you will come in groups,
the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds
On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups.
The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts,
On that Day when the trumpet shall be sounded, you shall come in droves,
The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds;
وَفُتِحَتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَٰبًۭا ﴿١٩﴾
And the heaven is opened and will become gateways
Wafutihati alssamao fakanat abwaban
The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors,
And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates.
and heaven is opened, and become gates,
And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors.
And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates,
And the sky is opened up, and becomes gateways.
and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors;
And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates,
and the sky will be opened and become gates,
and heaven is opened, having gates,
The heavens will have openings like doors.
And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings,
and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates,
And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors,
وَسُيِّرَتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا ﴿٢٠﴾
And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage.
Wasuyyirati aljibalu fakanat saraban
The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage.
And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages.
and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour.
And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage.
And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage.
And the mountains are set in motion, and become a mirage.
and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage.
And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage.
and the mountains will be set moving and become a mirage.
and the mountains move, and vaporize.
The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages.
And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance.
and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage.
And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage.
إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًۭا ﴿٢١﴾
Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait
Inna jahannama kanat mirsadan
Certainly Hell lies in wait,
Indeed hell is lying in ambush.
Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush,
Verily the Hell is an ambuscade:
Truly, Hell is a place of ambush,
Hell is lying in ambush.
Surely the Hell is an ambush,
Lo! hell lurketh in ambush,
Indeed hell is in ambush,
Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush,
Hell will lie in wait (for its prey).
Surely hell lies in wait,
Surely, Hell lies in wait,
Truly Hell is as a place of ambush,
لِّلطَّٰغِينَ مَـَٔابًۭا ﴿٢٢﴾
For the transgressors, a place of return,
Lilttagheena maaban
The rebels' abode,
The destination of the rebellious.
for the insolent a resort,
For the exorbitant a receptacle.
A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.),
For the oppressors, a destination.
a resort for the rebellious;
A home for the rebellious.
a resort for the rebels,
a return for the insolent,
It will be a place of return
A place of resort for the inordinate,
a home for the transgressors,
For the transgressors a place of destination:
لَّٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحْقَابًۭا ﴿٢٣﴾
In which they will remain for ages [unending].
Labitheena feeha ahqaban
Where they will remain for aeons,
They will remain in it for ages.
therein to tarry for ages,
They will tarry therein for ages.
They will abide therein for ages,
Where they will remain for eons.
therein they shall abide for ages,
They will abide therein for ages.
to reside therein for ages,
there, they shall live for ages,
for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages.
Living therein for ages.
where they shall remain for ages,
They will dwell therein for ages.
لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًۭا وَلَا شَرَابًا ﴿٢٤﴾
They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink
La yathooqoona feeha bardan wala sharaban
Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink
They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink.
tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink
They will not taste therein cool or any drink.
Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink.
They will taste therein neither coolness, nor drink.
they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink
Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink
tasting in it neither any coolness nor drink,
tasting neither coolness nor any drink
They will not feel cold nor taste any drink
They shall not taste therein cool nor drink
and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink
Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink,
إِلَّا حَمِيمًۭا وَغَسَّاقًۭا ﴿٢٥﴾
Except scalding water and [foul] purulence -
Illa hameeman waghassaqan
Except boiling water and benumbing cold:
Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell.
save boiling water and pus
Save scalding water and corruption.
Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges.
Except boiling water, and freezing hail.
save boiling water and wash of the wounds;
Save boiling water and a paralysing cold:
except boiling water and pus,
except boiling water and pus
except boiling water and pus,
But boiling and intensely cold water,
save boiling water and a stinking fluid --
Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold,
جَزَآءًۭ وِفَاقًا ﴿٢٦﴾
An appropriate recompense.
Jazaan wifaqan
, A fitting reward.
The reward to each is according to what he is.
for a suitable recompense.
Recompense fitted!
An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes).
A fitting requital.
a befitting recompense for their deeds.
Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds).
a fitting requital.
for a suitable recompense.
as a fitting recompense for their deeds.
Requital corresponding.
a fitting requital,
A fitting recompense (for them).
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًۭا ﴿٢٧﴾
Indeed, they were not expecting an account
Innahum kanoo la yarjoona hisaban
They were those who did not expect a reckoning,
Indeed they had no fear of the account.
They indeed hoped not for a reckoning,
Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning.
For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning.
For they were not anticipating any reckoning.
For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning,
For lo! they looked not for a reckoning;
Indeed they did not expect any reckoning,
Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning,
They did not expect such a Judgment
Surely they feared not the account,
for they never expected to be called to account,
For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds),
وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كِذَّابًۭا ﴿٢٨﴾
And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial.
Wakaththaboo biayatina kiththaban
And rejected Our signs as lies.
And they denied Our signs to the extreme.
and they cried loud lies to Our signs;
And they belied Our revelations with strong belying.
But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely.
And they denied Our signs utterly.
and roundly denied Our Signs as false.
They called Our revelations false with strong denial.
and they denied Our signs mendaciously,
and they absolutely belied Our verses,
and persistently rejected Our revelations.
And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth).
and they rejected outright Our signs;
But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false.
وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَٰهُ كِتَٰبًۭا ﴿٢٩﴾
But all things We have enumerated in writing.
Wakulla shayin ahsaynahu kitaban
We have kept account of everything in a book.
And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for.
and everything We have numbered in a Book.
And everything We have recorded in a book.
And all things We have recorded in a Book.
But We have enumerated everything in writing.
And everything have We recorded in a Book.
Everything have We recorded in a Book.
and We have figured everything in a Book.
and everything We have numbered in a Book.
However, We have recorded everything in a book.
And We have recorded everything in a book,
but We have recorded everything in a Book.
And all things have We preserved on record.
فَذُوقُوا۟ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا ﴿٣٠﴾
\"So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment.\"
Fathooqoo falan nazeedakum illa AAathaban
So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment,
Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment.
'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.'
Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment.
So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment.
So taste! We will increase you only in suffering.
So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment.
So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment.
So [now] taste! We shall increase you in nothing but punishment!
'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment'
(They will be told), \"Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you\".
So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement.
[So We shall say], \"Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!\"
\"So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment.\"
إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا ﴿٣١﴾
Indeed, for the righteous is attainment -
Inna lilmuttaqeena mafazan
As for those who preserve themselves from evil and follow the straight path, there is attainment for them:
Indeed the place of success is for the pious.
Surely for the godfearing awaits a place of security,
Verily for the God-fearing is an achievement.
Verily, for the Muttaqun, there will be a success (Paradise);
But for the righteous there is triumph.
Surely the state of triumph awaits the God-fearing:
Lo! for the duteous is achievement -
Indeed a triumph awaits the Godwary:
But, for the cautious a place of prosperity,
The pious ones will be triumphant.
Surely for those who guard (against evil) is achievement,
As for those who are mindful of God, they shall surely triumph:
Verily for the Righteous there will be a fulfilment of (the heart's) desires;
حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعْنَٰبًۭا ﴿٣٢﴾
Gardens and grapevines
Hadaiqa waaAAnaban
Orchards and vineyards,
Gardens and grapes.
gardens and vineyards
Gardens enclosed and vineyards,
Gardens and grapeyards;
Gardens and vineyards.
gardens and vineyards,
Gardens enclosed and vineyards,
gardens and vineyards,
and gardens and vineyards,
They will have gardens and vineyards,
Gardens and vineyards,
theirs shall be gardens and vineyards,
Gardens enclosed, and grapevines;
وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًۭا ﴿٣٣﴾
And full-breasted [companions] of equal age
WakawaAAiba atraban
And graceful maidens of the same age,
And maidens of a single age.
and maidens with swelling breasts, like of age,
And full-breasted maidens of equal age.
And young full-breasted (mature) maidens of equal age;
And splendid spouses, well matched.
and youthful maidens of like age,
And voluptuous women of equal age;
and buxom maidens of a like age,
curvaceous (virgins), of equal age
maidens with pears-shaped breasts who are of equal age (to their spouses)
And voluptuous women of equal age;
and young maidens of equal age,
And voluptuous women of equal age;
وَكَأْسًۭا دِهَاقًۭا ﴿٣٤﴾
And a full cup.
Wakasan dihaqan
And flasks full and flowing.
And an overflowing cup.
and a cup overflowing.
And a cup overflowing.
And a full cup (of wine).
And delicious drinks.
and an overflowing cup.
And a full cup.
and brimming cups.
and an overflowing cup.
and cups full of wine.
And a pure cup.
and overflowing cups.
And a cup full (to the brim).
لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًۭا وَلَا كِذَّٰبًۭا ﴿٣٥﴾
No ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood -
La yasmaAAoona feeha laghwan wala kiththaban
They will hear no blasphemies there or disavowals:
In which they shall neither hear lewd talk, nor any lie.
Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cry of lies,
They will hear therein no babble nor falsehood:
No Laghw (dirty, false, evil talk) shall they hear therein, nor lying;
They will hear therein neither gossip, nor lies.
Therein they shall hear no idle talk, nor any falsehood;
There hear they never vain discourse, nor lying -
Therein they shall hear neither vain talk nor lies
There, they shall neither hear idle talk, nor yet any falsehood,
They will not hear therein any unnecessary words or lies.
They shall not hear therein any vain words nor lying.
There they shall not hear any idle talk, or any untruth:
No vanity shall they hear therein, nor Untruth:-
جَزَآءًۭ مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابًۭا ﴿٣٦﴾
[As] reward from your Lord, [a generous] gift [made due by] account,
Jazaan min rabbika AAataan hisaban
A recompense from your Lord, a sufficient gift,
A reward from your Lord – a grossly sufficient bestowal.
for a recompense from thy Lord, a gift, a reckoning,
A recompense from thy Lord-a gift sufficient -
A reward from your Lord, an ample calculated gift (according to the best of their good deeds).
A reward from your Lord, a fitting gift.
a recompense from your Lord and an ample reward
Requital from thy Lord - a gift in payment -
—a reward and a sufficing bounty from your Lord,
a recompense from your Lord, a gift, a reckoning,
This will be their reward from your Lord, a favor from Him and a recompense for their deeds.
A reward from your Lord, a gift according to a reckoning:
all this will be a recompense, a gift, that will suffice them, from your Lord,
Recompense from thy Lord, a gift, (amply) sufficient,
رَّبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ۖ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًۭا ﴿٣٧﴾
[From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech.
Rabbi alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma alrrahmani la yamlikoona minhu khitaban
The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that lies between them, most benevolent, to whom none may dare address a word.
Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all whatever is between them – the Most Gracious – with Whom no one will have the right to talk.
Lord of the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, the All-merciful of whom they have no power to speak.
From the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of whatsoever is in bet-ween them, the Compassionate with Whom they can demand not audience.
(From) the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and whatsoever is in between them, the Most Beneficent, none can dare to speak with Him (on the Day of Resurrection except after His Leave).
Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them—The Most Merciful—none can argue with Him.
from the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of that which is between them; the Most Merciful Lord before Whom none dare utter a word.
Lord of the heavens and the earth, and (all) that is between them, the Beneficent; with Whom none can converse.
the All-beneficent, the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. They will not be able to address Him
the Lord of the heavens and earth, and all that is between them, the Merciful, of whom they are unable to speak.
He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. He is the Beneficent God and no one will be able to address Him.
The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the Beneficent Allah, they shall not be able to address Him.
the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, the most Gracious [and] none shall have it in their power to raise their voices to Him.
(From) the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all between, (Allah) Most Gracious: None shall have power to argue with Him.
يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ صَفًّۭا ۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًۭا ﴿٣٨﴾
The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct.
Yawma yaqoomu alrroohu waalmalaikatu saffan la yatakallamoona illa man athina lahu alrrahmanu waqala sawaban
The day the Spirit takes its stand, with the angels ranged in rows. None will speak except who is permitted by Ar-Rahman and says what is right.
The day when Jibreel and all the angels will stand in rows; none will be able to speak except one whom the Most Gracious commands and who spoke rightly. (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him – will be the first to be granted permission to intercede.)
Upon the day when the Spirit and the angels stand in ranks they shall speak not, save him to whom the All-merciful has given leave, and who speaks aright.
On the Day whereon the spirits and the angels will stand arrayed, they will not be able to speak save him whom the Compassionate giveth leave and who speaketh aright.
The Day that Ar-Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel) or another angel] and the angels will stand forth in rows, none shall speak except him whom the Most Beneficent (Allah) allows, and he will speak what is right.
On the Day when the Spirit and the angels stand in row. They will not speak, unless it be one permitted by the Most Merciful, and he will say what is right.
The Day when the Spirit and the angels are ranged row on row. None shall speak save he whom the Merciful Lord will permit; and he too will speak what is right.
On the day when the angels and the Spirit stand arrayed, they speak not, saving him whom the Beneficent alloweth and who speaketh right.
on the day when the Spirit and the angels stand in an array: none shall speak except someone who is permitted by the All-beneficent and says what is rightful.
On that Day, when the Spirit (Gabriel) and the angels stand in ranks they shall not speak, except he to whom the Merciful has given permission, and sayswhat is right.
On that day, the Spirit and the angels who stand in lines will not speak except those whom the Beneficent God has permitted, and he will speak the right words.
The day on which the spirit and the angels shall stand in ranks; they shall not speak except he whom the Beneficent Allah permits and who speaks the right thing.
On the Day when the Spirit and the angels stand in ranks, no one will speak, except for those to whom the Lord of Mercy gives permission, and who will say only what is right.
The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand forth in ranks, none shall speak except any who is permitted by (Allah) Most Gracious, and He will say what is right.
ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔابًا ﴿٣٩﴾
That is the True Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return.
Thalika alyawmu alhaqqu faman shaa ittakhatha ila rabbihi maaban
That day is certain. So whosoever likes may prepare a way to his Lord.
That is the True Day; therefore whoever wills may take the path towards his Lord.
That is the true day; so whosoever wills takes unto his Lord a resort.
That is the Sure Day. Whosoever therefore willeth, let him betake Unto his Lord a resort.
That is without doubt the True Day, so, whosoever wills, let him seek a place with (or a way to) His Lord (by obeying Him in this worldly life)!
That is the Day of Reality. So whoever wills, let him take a way back to his Lord.
That Day is sure to come. So let him who will seek a resort with his Lord.
That is the True Day. So whoso will should seek recourse unto his Lord.
That day is true for certain. So let anyone who wishes take resort with his Lord.
That is the Day, the truth, so whosoever wills takes a way to his Lord.
That will be the Day of the Truth. So let those who want seek refuge from their Lord.
That is the sure day, so whoever desires may take refuge with his Lord.
That Day is sure to come, so whoever wishes to, let him take the path that leads towards his Lord.
That Day will be the sure Reality: Therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) return to his Lord!
إِنَّآ أَنذَرْنَٰكُمْ عَذَابًۭا قَرِيبًۭا يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ ٱلْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ ٱلْكَافِرُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى كُنتُ تُرَٰبًۢا ﴿٤٠﴾
Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, \"Oh, I wish that I were dust!\"
Inna antharnakum AAathaban qareeban yawma yanthuru almaro ma qaddamat yadahu wayaqoolu alkafiru ya laytanee kuntu turaban
We have indeed warned you of a calamity near at hand, a day when man will see what he had sent (of his deeds) ahead, and the unbeliever will say: \"Woe alas. Ah would that I were dust!\"
We warn you of a punishment that has come near; a day on which man will see what his own hands have sent ahead, and the disbeliever will say, “Alas – if only I were dust!”
Lo, We have warned you of a nigh chastisement, upon the day when a man shall behold what his hands have forwarded, and the unbeliever shall say, 'O would that I were dust!'
Verily We! We have warned you of a torment nigh at hand, a Day whereon a man shall behold that which his hands have sent forth, and the infidel will say: would that I were dust!
Verily, We have warned you of a near torment, the Day when man will see that (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the disbeliever will say: \"Woe to me! Would that I were dust!\"
We have warned you of a near punishment—the Day when a person will observe what his hands have produced, and the faithless will say, “O, I wish I were dust.”
Lo! We warn you of a chastisement near at hand; the Day when a man will look on what his own hands have sent forth, and the unbelievers shall say: “Oh would that I were utter dust.”
Lo! We warn you of a doom at hand, a day whereon a man will look on that which his own hands have sent before, and the disbeliever will cry: \"Would that I were dust!\"
Indeed We have warned you of a punishment near at hand—the day when a person will observe what his hands have sent ahead and the faithless one will say, ‘I wish I were dust!’
Indeed, We have forewarned you of an imminent punishment, the Day when the person will look upon his works and the unbelievers will say: 'Would that I were dust'
We have warned you of the approaching torment. On that day, a person will see what his hands have committed. A disbeliever will say, \"Would that I had been dust\".
Surely We have warned you of a chastisement near at hand: the day when man shall see what his two hands have sent before, and the unbeliever shall say: O! would that I were dust!
We have warned you of a chastisement which is near at hand, on the Day when man shall [clearly] see what his hands have sent ahead, and when he who has denied the truth shall say, \"Oh, would that I were dust!\"
Verily, We have warned you of a Penalty near, the Day when man will see (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the Unbeliever will say, \"Woe unto me! Would that I were (metre) dust!\"
